KI-industriens ideologiske fraksjoner
Min (ikke spesielt originale) forståelse er at KI-industrien i USA er styrt av fire ideologiske fraksjoner som alle er overbevist om at superintelligent KI (ASI) er teknologisk oppnåelig, ønskelig, uunngåelig og rett rundt hjørnet.Disse fire fraksjonene ønsker alle å bygge ASI for som skal innlede den den teknologiske singulariteten* og så "spread the light of consciousness to the stars" som Musk har sagt. Altså at menneskeheten eller våre teknologiske etterkommere skal kolonisere universet.
Navier-Stokes blow-up and real fluids
After the OpenAI-derived counterexample to the Navier-Stokes existence and smoothness problem*, I thought I would try to put into writing my own interpretation of the result. I'm not a mathematician, I'm a physicist and meteorologist, so I have a good grasp of fluid mechanics, but from the physical sciences and numerical modelling side.
Finite time blow-up
I never understood why the Millennium Prize Navier-Stokes formulation asked for proof with f(x,t)=0 while counterexamples could have arbitrary smooth f(x,t). A counterexample with smooth f latter doesn't automatically serve as a counterexample to the first formulation.
